Alumnus Grows Opportunity at UT for Sequatchie County Students 

Dale Hudson (’64, ’66) grew up wanting to see more of the world, and he knew his ticket was the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He hails from Sequatchie County, Tennessee, which has much to offer in scenic countryside views and community warmth but remains one of the least populated counties in the state. With only one public high school, his home county felt small to young Hudson.

7,700 Volunteers came together Nov. 5 for Big Orange Give, supporting their favorite parts of Rocky Top and showing their belief in the power of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, to change lives. The annual day of giving completed its 13th year with more than $2.6 million received for current and future students, surpassing its $2.5 million goal.
