The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is opening eight new projects on its VOLstarter platform during February to support campus initiatives including the Veterans Success Center, the Precious Prints Project, the Student Emergency Fund, and more.

VOLstarter is the university’s crowdfunding website that provides an immediate opportunity to support projects, organizations, and initiatives directly. Donations can be made rapidly via credit or debit card in amounts of $5 or more to areas of greatest interest.

The eight projects open for donations are:

  • Chapter and Council Scholarships—Life-changing opportunities for students and investments in the Big Orange family’s legacy
  • Tri-Star Scholarships—Committed to providing Tennesseans with a high-quality affordable education at the state’s flagship land-grant university
  • Humanities Center—An inclusive environment where students can advocate for the importance of arts and humanities
  • Precious Prints Project—Provides a silver fingerprint-pendant to families who have lost a child at the hospital.
  • Student Emergency Fund—Helps provide groceries, medical expenses, and travel for our Vols in need
  • Veterans Success Center—Emergency funding, specialized tutoring, and more for amazing service members transitioning into collegiate life
  • Marching Band London Trip—Help send the Pride of the Southland Marching Band to London
  • Makers Club—Fosters creativity and design by providing the material and software students need to turn big ideas into reality

In Ecuador our mission was helping people with disabilities. It was the greatest thing I’ve been a part of at UT.
