On February 25, 2019, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, alumni chapters and councils from around the country will compete in the third annual Alumni Scholarship Challenge. The weeklong campaign is an exciting time to see the Volunteer family come together to support current and future students in their area.
Last year, over $60,000 was raised from 441 alumni, and those gifts have had a profound impact on campus. Here is what a few current recipients had to say about the scholarships they have received:
“I am having an awesome time here at the University of Tennessee and I am very pleased with how I am performing academically and with the friends that I am making. Thank you so much for your generous donation, it goes a long way for me.”
James Wood
Seattle, Washington
“Being chosen as a recipient of this award places me one step closer to completing my education and entering into a field I love. I cannot wait to prove how my presence at the university not only benefits me but the campus as a whole. Your support means the world to me.”
Samuel Aba
Knoxville
“The scholarship you gave me has been a blessing in my life to help relieve some of the financial stress of paying for college and helps me focus on my education as a whole. I can’t thank you enough for your investment!”
Camryn Hurley

“I am so grateful for the support of our Volunteer family. I hope one day I can give back to the school that has given me so much.”
Carter Spence

It is the generosity of donors that allows me to have a more stress-free education. It allows me to further give back to UT, grow myself, and make more lasting relationships.
